GORE-TEX® is a windproof, waterproof and breathable high performance textile for protective wear. Even under the worst condition the performance and reliability of GORE-TEX® materials are legendary. That is why we use in our UF PRO® rain wear only the best GORE-TEX® materials.
How does it work?
The unique GORE-TEX® membrane is incorporated as two or three layer laminate into our UF PRO® rain garments. It is a perfect barrier against rain and wind, while allowing sweat to evaporate. Even in cases of extreme physical activity, the sweat will be transported to the outside of the clothing system.
As the membrane works like a hedge, cold winds cannot pass through it and destroy the microclimate next to the skin. This prevents the wearer against the wind chill effect. As a result the wearer stays dry and comfortable in our UF PRO® rain garments.
How is it tested?
The Gore rain tower is the most important test method to ensure that our UF PRO® rain wear is waterproof under even challenging practical conditions. This extreme test exposes sample garments to a range of rain conditions – from moderate to heavy, vertical and wind driven – while worn by a rotating mannequin equipped with sensors to detect any leakage. If leaks are detected, construction and functional design is rejected or modified to improve its performance until it passes.
